Each month, we compare a basket of 13 identical items at locations across Queensland including Logan, Brisbane, Cairns and Gladstone. The goods in the basket are a mix of home brand and national brands available at all supermarkets. Each volunteer shopper is pricing exactly the same product. We don’t publish the brands as an added assurance that supermarkets cannot manipulate the prices of products in the basket.
Of our survey stores, the best for November was IGA Rochedale at $62.22.
The average basket was $64.08.
